Today Had The Stench Of Stain

Remember when we put up all these wooden things in the spring?

After almost five days of dry weather...
we could seal it all in with a nice coat of stain to make things last longer.

But boy was it messy and ....smelly.

Everyone tried to help.

Here's the stained version on the left...and unstained on the right.
If we had done nothing...everything would have turned an ugly gray by next year.

Even the dark side came to help.

And what can be more American than staining your fence on a fall, sunny 70 degree day with the American flag flapping in the breeze and you husband wearing his Nebraska Husker's cap?

We bought a sprayer to spray it on, then used brushes to brush it in.

Peach Blossom took this opportunity to pick up dirt.

And throw it on a nearby tire.

Iris Anna made a shoe train.

In the back porch.

With so many feet in this house,
there's so many shoes to play with.

There's really no end to the possible shoe scenarios.

It was nice enough today, to be barefoot.

And you know how I like bare feet.

It was nice enough to sit in the swing
and just kind stare into space.

Or work on the buckle on the swing.
Hope you all had a swingin' Saturday too!

The stain looks great. I love that look. Sounds like the weather was perfect. Greg's family that is still in Oconomowoc, Mequon, and Milwaukee, gave us good reports that it was an outside day. Even the dark side couldn't resist a warm fall day! Love it.
